2007 News

Vancouver, B.C., March 20, 2007. Alto Ventures Ltd. (ATV: TSX-V) is pleased to provide results for holes MUD07-08 to 12 from the Beardmore area diamond drilling program which was completed at the end of February. The Beardmore-Geraldton Gold Belt is renowned for its high grades averaging almost 0.4 oz/ton (13.7 g/t) gold from historical production which has exceeded four million ounces. These new holes tested the Clarke gold occurrence, one of several surface gold showings on the Mud Lake project that have not been drilled previously.

These results combined with results obtained from drilling at the Oliver Severn and Trench 6 (please see news release dated March 5, 2007) continue to provide encouragement for the Mud Lake project (please see table below).

Because the shear at the Clarke occurrence is folded and there was some uncertainty as to plunge directions, the five holes were spaced 25 m apart and tested for gold along 100 m section of the shear. The drilling has confirmed the folding and plunge directions to the southwest and holes MUD07-11 and 12 intersected shearing, veining and gold. In hole MUD07-11 the shear divides into two branches and both carry significant gold including 2.11 g/t across 2.0 m and 2.35 g/t across 1.7 m. MUD07-12 is the most southerly hole and it intersected an impressive zone of shearing containing an 8.0 m section which assays almost one gram per tonne gold and includes a quartz vein breccia that assays 2.16 g/t gold across 2.0 m. Holes MUD07-08, 09 and 10 were drilled up-plunge and did not intersect significant shearing or mineralization.

This minimal-size 753 m drill program tested three surface gold showings occurring along the six km Mud Lake Shear. The results have surpassed objectives because well developed shear zones containing quartz veins that carry significant gold, including high grades, were intersected. The intersection of gold at each of the three areas confirms that gold is abundant in the region and highlights the need for more work on this under-explored property. Plans for the 2007 summer field season are being formulated.

Assay results for the Cote-Archie Lake and the Greenoaks holes are pending and will be available for dissemination within the next few weeks.

QualityAssurance/ Quality Control
Core processing included descriptive logging and selection of samples for analyses. The NQ-size cores selected for analyses were sawed in half and one half was delivered to a commercial laboratory by Alto staff for analyses and the other half retained for future reference. Gold assays were performed at Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The gold assaying method uses a standard Fire Assay with AA finish technique on a 30 gram sub-sample taken from a 500 gram split from the submitted sample. Commercially prepared standards were inserted by Alto every 25 samples to ensure precision of the results. The laboratory ran internal check assays every 10 samples to ensure lab quality control.
