2007 News

Vancouver, B.C., March 5, 2007. Alto Ventures Ltd. (ATV: TSX-V) is pleased to provide a progress report from its Beardmore area drilling program which was completed on February 27. Preliminary results from the first seven holes drilled on the Mud Lake Project are very encouraging with gold intersections of 13.97 g/t Au across 1.0m contained within a wider zone of shearing and veining that averages 3.39 g/t gold across 6.1 m in hole MUD07-06. A second vein in the same hole assays 5.56 g/t across 1.0 m.

In total, 19 holes were drilled to test selected targets on the Mud Lake, Greenoaks and Cote-Archie Lake projects. Twelve holes, totalling 753 m were completed at Mud Lake. The objectives were to test selected portions of the Mud Lake Shear, a major auriferous shear zone that has been identified for over six kilometres along strike. Three gold occurrences (Trench 6, Oliver-Severn and Clarke) were drilled and results for the Trench 6 and Oliver-Severn are presented in the table below.

Table of Significant Assay Results

Three holes (MUD07-01 to 03) spaced 25 m apart were drilled to test the Trench 6 Showing. Each of the drill holes intersected a quartz vein varying in widths from 1.0 m to 2.7 m. The three holes confirm a minimum 50m strike length to the vein and two of the three holes indicate that the vein is auriferous and requires further exploration along strike and to depth.

Four holes (MUD07-04 to 07) spaced at 25 m apart were drilled to test the Oliver-Severn Showing which is located along the Mud Lake Shear approximately 1.6 km northeast of Trench 6. These holes intersected visually interesting veins including the veins in MUD07-06. Two sets of veins were intersected in this hole. The first set is in a shear from 12.3 m to 18.4 m depths which averages 3.39 g/t gold across 6.1 m and includes 13.9 g/t gold across 1.0m. A second vein intersected from 28.6 m to 29.6 m assays 5.5 g/t gold across 1.0m. The shears and veins remain untested along strike and to depth.

The Company is very pleased with the results obtained from the "first-time ever" drilling of these targets. This property lies along a tertiary numbered provincial highway 10 km north of the Trans Canada Highway and none of these surface gold occurrences have been previously drilled.

This first set of results provides considerable encouragement for the project and for the Beardmore-Geraldton Gold Camp in general which is currently experiencing a revival in exploration activity.

Assay results for the Clarke showing and the other Beardmore area holes are pending and are anticipated to be available for dissemination within the next few weeks.

Core processing included descriptive logging and selection of samples for analyses. The NQ-size cores selected for analyses were sawed in half and one half was delivered to a commercial laboratory by Alto staff for analyses and the other half retained for future reference. Gold assays were performed at Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The gold assaying method uses a standard Fire Assay with AA finish technique on a 30 gram sub-sample taken from a 500 gram split from the submitted sample. Commercially prepared standards were inserted by Alto every 25 samples to ensure precision of the results. The laboratory ran internal check assays every 10 samples to ensure lab quality control.
