2007 News

Vancouver, B.C., April 30, 2007. Alto Ventures Ltd. (ATV: TSX-V) is pleased to announce that it has increased its property positions through staking in both the Beardmore Geraldton area and in the Shebandowan greenstone belt. In total, the Company has added 1,616 hectares (ha) to the Mud Lake Project in Beardmore-Geraldton and the Coldstream Project in Shebandowan.

Mud Lake Staking, Beardmore-Geraldton Area, Ontario

At Mud Lake, the Company has staked an additional 864 ha increasing the size of the Mud Lake property by approximately 50% to 2,592 ha. Diamond drilling in 2007 has confirmed the existence of a strong shear system (Mud Lake shear) that contains gold-bearing quartz veins. Drilling intersected gold in each of the three areas tested with grades up to 13.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 1.0 metres (m) within a wider zone of mineralization that assays 3.39 g/t gold over 6.1 m at one of these areas (please see Alto news releases dated March 6 and March 20, 2007).

A recent re-interpretation of government airborne geophysical data suggests that there are two other major shear zones trending parallel to the auriferous Mud Lake shear. The newly staked claims adjoin the existing property and cover the newly identified and potentially favourable structures.

The Beardmore-Geraldton Gold Belt is renowned for its high grades averaging almost 0.4 oz/ton (13.7 g/t) gold from historical production which has exceeded four million ounces. Although accessible by paved Provincial Highway 11, exploration in the belt over the past two decades has been minimal until the recent increase in activity by Alto and several other juniors.

Coldstream Staking, Shebandowan, Ontario

The Company staked 752 ha increasing the size of the Coldstream Project by almost 25% to 3,808 ha. A number of historical gold occurrences are indicated on government geological maps within the newly staked area but Alto has not had an opportunity to evaluate their significance and economic potential.

Diamond drilling by Alto in 2006 has intersected persistent gold mineralization with intercepts up to 68 m averaging 1.21 g/t Au (see Alto news releases from August 9 and September 19, 2006) in a geological setting that has many characteristics similar to the giant Iron-Oxide-Copper- Gold deposits being explored for in Brazil and Canada's far north. These deposits tend to be polymetallic. Typically gold grades range from 0.1 g/t to several g/t and copper values from 0.1 per cent to several per cent.

The deposits tend to be of significant size from tens of millions of tonnes to several hundred million tonnes. Alto's property has excellent potential to host such large deposits.

The large tonnage potential of the Shebandowan and surroundings area is already being recognized with recent announcements of significant gold intersections by Brett Resources on their Hammond Reef project, located 75 km west. This project has reported historical resources of 86 million tonnes averaging 0.93 g/t Au containing 2.6 million ounces. Closer to Coldstream and immediately adjoining the southwest property boundary is the Moss Lake deposit with a recently released 43-101 compliant resource of 50.9 million tonnes averaging 0.92 g/t Au and containing 1.5 million ounces (please see Moss Lake Gold Mines Ltd. news release dated December 1, 2006).

Planned Summer Program

The company is planning to start its summer exploration programs on three Beardmore-Geraldton area projects and in the Shebandowan belt in mid May when contractors and crews are in place. The work will consist of prospecting, mapping and surface trenching at each of the projects. Pending outcome of the spring and summer programs, drilling is planned for September.
