2007 News

Vancouver, B.C., July 5, 2007. Alto Ventures Ltd. (ATV: TSX-V) is pleased to announce results of its recent prospecting program carried out on the Cote-Archie Lake Property. Gold values up to 8 grams per tonne (g/t) were obtained in grab samples taken at Cote-Archie Lake Project which is located 5 kilometres (km) north of the town of Beardmore in the historically productive Beardmore-Geraldton Gold Belt. The Beardmore-Geraldton Gold Belt is renowned for having produced more than four million ounces of gold at an average grade of almost 0.4 ounces per ton (13.7 g/t).

The current prospecting program has focused on the Angle Lake block of the 2,672 hectares (ha) Cote- Archie Lake Property. The Angle Lake block is located 5 km east of the area of Alto's previous work where the Company has identified the Cote-Archie Lake Shear Zone, a major auriferous structure with gold mineralization at several locations for two km along its strike length. Locally, gold values up to 11.2 g/t across one metre chip samples were obtained (see Alto's website www.altoventures.com and news release dated January 31, 2007). Alto's Cote-Archie Lake Shear Zone is located 5 km northeast of the former Leitch Mine and lies on strike along the shear system that hosted the gold-bearing quartz veins from which 860,000 ounces of gold was reported to have been produced at an average grade of 0.92 oz/ton (31.5 g/t) prior to the closing of the mine in 1968.

In May, 2007, prospectors Robert and Richard Cote identified and sampled several locations at Angle Lake that are mineralized with pyrite and arsenopyrite. Samples from three separate locations containing both disseminated pyrite and arsenopyrite in sheared rocks returned gold assays ranging from 2 g/t to 8 g/t. The three gold-bearing sites occur along the same shear zone and this shear zone strikes in the same direction as the Cote-Archie Lake Shear Zone and lies parallel to it.

The results of this prospecting program are very encouraging as they provide a number of new targets for trenching and subsequent diamond drilling along a shear structure that lies 5 km east of the Cote- Archie Lake Shear Zone and trends parallel to it.

Rock samples collected by prospectors were described by Alto geologists and their locations confirmed in the field. The samples were then delivered by Alto staff to Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay for analyses. The gold assaying method uses a standard Fire Assay with AA finish technique on a 30 gram sub-sample taken from a 500 gram split from the submitted sample. The laboratory ran internal check assays every 10 samples to ensure lab quality control.
